Architecture / Natural light

A study of how sunlight changes the way a place feels. The frame brings together three elements—stone, shadow and water—and lets their different textures create the contrast. A restrained composition keeps attention on the curve of the wall and the distant horizon.

Street / Colour

Wet surfaces turn the street into a second image. The figure provides scale, while the red umbrella links the upper and lower halves of the frame. The scene is built around the meeting of warm artificial light and the cooler tones of evening.

Still life / Studio

A studio still life exploring the boundary between a simple object and a sculptural form. Directional light makes the paper’s folds and shadows part of the subject, while a neutral backdrop allows the colour to remain the focus.
